KEITH SEFTON COOK

Keith Sefton Cook, 46, of Matheny, WV, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on August 9, 1976 in Beckley, WV a son of Burl Clyde Cook and Florence Milam Cook of Matheny. Keith held many titles here on earth Dad, Son, Brother, Uncle and friend just to name a few, but his greatest joy in life and his favorite title was “Gavin’s Dad.” It is such a blessing to know they are together again, this time forever. Keith was a 1995 National Honor Society graduate of Oceana High School and the Wyoming County Vocational Technical School. Keith owned several small businesses in Oceana including a detail shop and a motorcycle shop. Keith worked several jobs, but mostly in the natural gas pipeline industry. Keith was very knowledgeable and excelled at all he set out to do. He was a simple man with a heart bigger than life itself. Keith was always a momma’s boy and daddy’s right-hand man. He was great at everything he did. He was a very hard worker, provider and fierce protector. Keith’s heart belonged to his fiancé, Melissa, whom he loved fully and unconditionally. He was an outdoorsman, loved spending time at the family cabin hunting and fishing. From the hollers of Matheny to the banks of Greenbrier, Keith left a trail of wonderful memories. Keith was the best brother. He was always so kind, humble and genuine. His laughter was contagious, his hugs were legionary. He was always ready to hit you with a quote from one of the many movies he knew by heart, just to make you smile and laugh. Keith always had a story to tell and the most hilarious and theatrical way of telling it, leaving a smile on your face and a pain in your side from laughing. Keith was first class, an amazing human being, one heck of a guy. Keith loved the way we should all love sincerely, deeply and real. May his memory and his laughter live on in our hearts until we all meet again.

He is preceded in death by his precious son Gavin Khane Cook, a special niece Alexis Breanna Mullins, paternal grandparents Ira Winfred and Etta Jane Shumate Cook, maternal grandparents Jesse and Lucille Milam.

In addition to his parents those left behind to cherish his memory are his fiancé Melissa Peck and her son Aiden Blankenship, brothers Chirs (Kathy) Cook of Oceana, Kevin (Rhonda) Cook of Statesville, NC, a sister Melanie (Eugene) Mullins of Statesville, NC, nieces and nephews Casey and Maddie Cook and Kadin and London Cook, special bonus sister Dina (Benjamin Santino) Price, and a host of aunts, uncles and other loving family and friends that adored him.

Graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, January 4th at Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the funeral home.
