Naomi Susan Stokes Shields, 74, of Brier Creek, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley, WV. She was born on March 10, 1948 in Welch, WV a daughter of the late Samuel and Belva Hatfield Stokes, Jr. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Carol “Cookie” Dorton and a brother, Samuel Kendall Stokes II. Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 53 years, Anthony Shields, a daughter, Melissa (Rodney) Addison, three sons, Anthony (Billie) Bradford, Adam Kyle, and Aaron James (special friend Heather Williams) Shields, eight grandchildren, one great grandchild, and a host of other loving family and friends. In keeping with her wishes she will be cremated. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
