John William Cook, 81, of Roderfield, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, November 14, 2022 in Welch, WV. He was born on February 20, 1941 in Long Pole, WV a son of the late Rev. Lorne and Else Mae McKenzie Cook. John loved serving God and being with his family. He had a heart of gold and loved everyone. He treated everyone with kindness. He will be sadly missed by many. Rest in Peace Man of God until we meet again where the family circle will never be broken. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two sons Randy Ray and James Alden Cook, a daughter Virginia Mae Cook Justus, a grandson Michael William Cook, a great granddaughter Memphys Gabriella Justus, four brothers, and three sisters. 

Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 61 years Patricia Ann Nierman Cook, two sons, John (Rose) Cook of Roderfield and Charles (Janie) Cook of Tamcliff, two daughters Judy Walls (Donald) of Baileysville and Patricia (Matthew) Hatfield of Welch, seventeen grandchildren, thirty-two great grandchildren, a brother, four sisters, three ladies that were dear to his heart Shianna Goodman, Miranda Wells, and Brenda Suttles, and a host of special nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. 

Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Sunday, November 20th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. David Dash officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cook Walls Cemetery, White Oak, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 pm on Saturday, November 19th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Jacob Walls, Cody Justus, Edward Cox, Donald Stable, Eric Short, and Buddy Cook.
