Roger Dale Tilley, 73, of Oceana, WV passed away on Sunday, July 31, 2022 at his home. He was born on October 6, 1948 in Sabine, WV a son of the late Earnest Aden and Oretha Vaught Tilley. Roger was a decorated retired United States Navy Chief Petty Officer. He served in Vietnam, Desert Storm and other campaigns. He loved his Country. Roger enjoyed fishing and hunting with his brothers. He was a 1967 graduate of Glen Rogers High School. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Earnest C. Tilley, James Brady Tilley and Gerald Tilley and four sisters in law Shelby Jean Tilley, Phyllis Tilley, Arlene Tilley and Pat Tilley. Those left to cherish his memories are his two daughters Joni Michelle Wilson and Cheri Dawn Magallanes, his beloved Cynthia Wilson, a step son Adam Alban, eight grandchildren Brittany Tilley, Brandon Tilley, Abigail Tilley, Kaitlyn Magallanes, Gabriel Magallanes, Anika Mae Weber, Rachel Ann Weber and Henry Weber, a great grandson Levi Dale Harvey, his siblings Herbert (Mary) Tilley of GA, Theodore “Tick” Tilley of Sabine, Joseph Ray Tilley of MD, Randall G. Tilley of Oceana, Rondell D. Tilley of Ravencliff, Patty (Freeman) Byars of IN, Ethel (Roger) Day, Sr. of Glen Fork and Brenda K. Tilley of Maben, sisters in law Lessie Connors and Rose Tilley both of VA, and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends who loved him dearly. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, August 5th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Ernest Francis, III officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Tilley–Tolliver Cemetery, Twin Falls, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service at the funeral home. The Wyoming County Honor Guard will conduct military rights. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
