JOHNNY LEE VANCE 

Johnny Lee Vance, 65, of Brenton, WV passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at is home. He was born on April 3, 1957 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Anderson and Ruby Barnett Vance. Johnny is a 1975 graduate of Baileysville High School and a member of the UMWA. He was an avid Wyoming County sports fan, supporting both high schools. Johnny especially loved girl’s basketball. He loved watching his grandchildren play various sports and run cross country. He was always their biggest and sometimes loudest fan. He coached Baileysville Little League teams: White Sox, A’s and Pirates and was one of the original founders of the Wyoming County Biddy-Buddy Basketball along with Burl Rose and Benny Bowles. Johnny worked 33 years for US Steel #50 mines and Pinnacle Prep Plant production foreman. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved the Lord and was a born again Christian. A member of the Bud Baptist Church at Bud and also he attended Mt. Carmel Freewill Baptist Church at Sabine. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his mother in law Betty Marshall, a sister Jill Vance Hodges, a sister in law Kathy Blankenship Vance and two brothers in law Gene Reid and Scott Miller. Survivors include his loving wife of 43 years Norlea Inscoe “Cookie” Vance, two sons Andy Vance and wife Anne Marie of Davy and Adam Vance and wife Patti of Baileysville, three step sons Chris Lovejoy and wife Deb of Central City, NE, Jack Lovejoy and wife Jennifer of Polk, NE and Matt Lovejoy and wife Laura of Central City, NE, seventeen grandchildren Jillian Gentry and Chase Vance of Davy, Logan Ryan, Breyden, Jackson, Bella and Addison Vance of Baileysville, Michaila Smith and her husband Bobby of Central City, NE, Nicholas, Connor and Katy Lovejoy of Central City, NE, Jentry Lovejoy of Polk, NE, Logan Edward, Dylan and Dalton Lovejoy of Central City, NE, Kaleb and Kinley Steele of Brenton, a great grandson Raymond Smith of Central City, NE, a special couple like his own Holly and Larry Steele of Brenton, four brothers Roger Vance and wife Kathy of Baileysville, Ernest Vance and wife Debbie of Saulsville, Jack Vance of Indian Creek and Lewis Barnett of Hordville, NE, two sisters Alice Miller of Beckley and Debra Vance Chinsolo and husband Carl of Welch, four brothers in law Raymond Inscoe of Grandview, Randy Reid of Beckley, Robert Reid of Syria, VA and Kenneth Hodges of Corrine, two sisters in law Cheryl Reid of Orange, VA and Betsy Schwers and husband Mike of Burke, VA, his best friend who was like a brother Tom Lusk and wife Betty of Daniels, many cousins, nieces, nephews who he saw as sons, great nieces and nephews, great great nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly as they loved him. Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday, August 7th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor Mervin White and Bro. Tim Lupardus officiating. He will be laid to rest in Harmon Cemetery, Cub Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 1 pm until time of service on Sunday at the funeral home. Grandsons and nephews will serve as pallbearers. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
