Town of Pineville Officials Take Oath of Office

PINEVILLE, W.Va. – On Thursday evening the Town of Pineville, West Virginia held its inauguration ceremony in the Town Hall Council Chambers.

The Mayor, Recorder, and Town Council members were officially sworn in to their offices by Magistrate and former Town of Pineville Chief-of-Police Roger Snow.

Those who were administered their oaths of office had been officially identified as the winners of the June 14 Municipal Election on June 23 during a Special Town Council meeting.

The oath must be taken before performing the duties of the office.  The oath of office must be taken whenever one of the officials listed below is originally elected or appointed and every time the official is reelected or reappointed. 

Left to Right – Mayor Lane and His Newly Elected Team – Council Member Brian Mitchell, Council Member Mike Clay, Council Member Sonja Davis, Mayor Toby Lane, Recorder Vicki Knight Clay, Council Member Debbie Bowling, and Council Member Debbie Wiles

The confirmed Mayor of the Town of Pineville is Toby Lane.  The confirmed Town Recorder is incumbent Vicki Knight Clay.  The five Town Council seats confirmed along with their departments are:   Parks and Recreation, Debbie Bowling; Police Department, Mike Clay; Water Department, Sonja Davis; Streets Department, Brian Mitchell; and FEMA, Debbie Wiles.

The aforementioned elected officials began their four-year terms of office on July 1, 2022.
