Rev. Gary Neal May, 80, of Matewan, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Williamson Appalachian Regional Hospital, Williamson, Ky. He was born on November 22, 1941 in War Eagle, WV a son of the late Freeland and Violet Mae Cline May. Gary attended the Jesus Only Church and a member of the UMWA. He loved spending time with his family, going to church, riding, fishing and enjoying the sunshine. He accomplished a lot in his lifetime from working many years in the mines, owning coalmines, a logging business and grocery stores but his all time favorite accomplishment in life was giving his life to the Lord and preaching his word. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his loving wife of 52 years Wanda May, a daughter Angie Ferrell, a grandson Whitey May, a daughter-in-law Monique May, a son-in-law Larry Yates, and a nephew Christopher May. 

Survivors include a son Gregory May, two daughters Miranda Taylor and husband Gregory and Elaine Dean and husband Freddy, grandchildren Bo Ferrell and wife Bonnie, Keith Yates and wife Brittany, Tiffany Ellis and husband Ronald, Candance Ferrell and Tristan Layne and husband Kyle, great grandchildren Emmett, Zack, Scarlett, Elizabeth, Brandon, Bradley, Hannah, Kylie, Caleb, Bentley, Kyleah, Payton and Matt, and a host of brothers, sisters and other loving family and friends. 

In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Cline, Phillip May, Macky May, Collin Cline and Edward Lester.
