Leonard Bailey Sr., 88, of Panther, WV passed away on Monday, February 28, 2022 at McDowell Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Gary, WV. Born on March 28, 1933 in Panther, WV, a son of the late Beechie and Gracie Bailey. He is a retired coal miner, a United States Army Veteran, and a member of the American Legion. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his 2nd wife Rhonda L. Bailey and his 3rd wife Laura Boone Bailey a stepson Dennis Boone two brothers Bernice and Andy Bailey and two sisters Shelby and Leona Bailey. 

Those left to cherish his memory include his son, whom he lived with, Leonard (Angela) Bailey Jr. a daughter Della Lawson, four stepchildren Tommy Boone, Theresa Smithson, Dale Boone, and Eric Boone, three children Lennis, Lancey, and Tina, his grandchildren Dylan, Amber, and Travis Bailey, Hailey and TJ Lawson, three siblings Etta Rowe, Larry Bailey and French Bailey, and a host of other grandchildren, loving family, and friends. 

Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Monday March 7th at Panther Missionary Baptist Church, Panther, WV, with Pastor Steve Shumate officiating. He will be laid to rest in Bailey Cemetery, Long Pole, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
