Alfred N. Cook, 84, of Pineville, WV departed this life on Thursday February 24, 2022 at Welch Community Hospital, Welch, WV following a long illness. He was born on March 4, 1937 in Pineville, WV a son of the late Elmer Cook and Addie Stewart Cook Blankenship. He was a retired coal miner having worked 34 years. Alfred loved the outdoors, riding his four wheeler with friends and especially his children and grandchildren. He was a dedicated member of the Southern Baptist Church. He was on the Board of Trustee, the Building Committee and Grounds Committee. 

In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his five brother Harley Cook, Byron “Edsel” Cook, Frelin Cook, William “Bill” Cook and Forrest Cook four sisters Glenna Hardy, Maxine Lester, Carrie Williams and Mary Ivy Lester. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 63 years Elizabeth Ann Cline Cook his two children Terry Cook of Cleveland, NC and Robin Allen and husband Daryl of Longs, SC four grandchildren Christopher Cook of Cleveland, NC, Dustin Cornett and wife Lauren of Golden, CO, Cayce McKimmus and husband Mark of Aurora, CO and Emalee Mullens of Littleton, CO three great grandchildren Miley Mahonee, Scarlet Rose Cornett and Baby McKimmas due to arrive in July a sister Juanita Barker of Stewart Draft, VA his church family whom he greatly admired and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday March 3rd at the Southern Baptist Church, Pineville, WV with Pastor DeWight Stafford officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Thursday at the church. His grandchildren will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Building and Grounds Committee of Southern Baptist Church. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
