Burnia Jean Woods Adkins, 81, of Lynco, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, January 16, 2022 at Logan Regional Medical Center, Logan, WV. She was born on September 12, 1940 in Clay County, WV a daughter of the late Willie and Pearl Stewart Woods.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years Melvin Adkins three sisters Phyllis Gould, Geraldine Elswick, and Lorene Childers and five brothers Charlie Woods, Arthur “Kerm” Woods, Howard “Fatty” Woods, Carl “Jig” Woods, and Marshall “Buster” Woods.
Survivors include three daughters Judy Adkins of Oceana, Julie Blevins (Jimmy) of Simon, and Jolene Holstein (Pat) of Oceana a very special nephew Damon Adkins six grandchildren Brandon Blevins, Haley Blevins, Anthony Holstein, Austin “Aussy” Holstein, Kiesha Holstein, and Kamika “Wee Wee” Holstein two great grandchildren Kase Blevins, and Xavier Cook two brothers Jimmy Woods, and Zane Woods (Mary) a sister-in-law Genevie Woods an ex son-in-law Danny Blevins and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Friday, January 21st in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV, with Pastor Johnny Jones officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Friday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
