Gary King “Hack” Richmond, 64, of Mullens, passed away on Thursday, October 14, 2021 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
Born June 12, 1957, at Beckley, he was the son of the late Alva Jackson Richmond, Jr. and Glenna Mae (King) Richmond Clay.
Hack was a 1976 graduate of Mullens High School and attended Concord College where he was a member of the TKE Tau Kappa Epsilon Fraternity. He was a former bartender and cook having last worked for the Mullens Moose Lodge, was an avid dart competitor winning numerous awards and was an avid WVU sports fan and music lover. He was an encyclopedia of information of WVU sports and statistics.
Those left to cherish his memory include his two sisters, Lynn Reilley of Mullens and Kay Cook Harris and her husband, Paul of Jonesville, VA; special cousin, John Campbell of Mullens; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
A memorial visitation will be from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Monday, October 18, 2021 at Tankersley Funeral Home, Mullens.
In keeping with his wishes, he will be cremated.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in memory of “Hack” to the City of Mullens Foundation P.O. Box 306, Mullens, WV 25882 or to Amedisys Hospice Care 545 Airport Road Suite 201, Bluefield, WV 24701.
