Gladys Rae Lilly, 91, of Alpoca, passed away on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 in a Beckley hospital. 

Born December 6, 1929 at Bud Mountain, WV, she was the daughter of the late Ray Bogle and Virginia Francis (Stanley) Lane. 

Gladys was a homemaker and the last surviving member of her immediate family. In her leisure, she enjoyed cooking, tending to her flowers, and gardening. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Archie Cline Lilly; two sisters, Virgie Bishop and Mae O’Neal; three brothers, Harvey, Homer, and Silas Lane; and a daughter-in-law, Diane Lilly 

Those left to cherish her memory include her four sons, Larry Lilly of Alpoca, Randy Lilly and his wife, Linda of Lincoln Park, Michigan, Gary Lilly of Alpoca, and Eddie Lilly and his wife, Kathy of Besoco; ten grandchildren; and numerous great grandchildren. 

Memorial service will be 1:00 P.M. Friday, August 13, 2021 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. Eddie Simpson officiating. 

In keeping with Gladys’s wishes, cremation will follow. 

The family would like to express a heartfelt thank you to Rev. Eddie Simpson for not only his carpentry skills but his ministry to our mother. Also, Family Healthcare of Mullens, Wyoming Nursing & Rehabilitation Center, and Raleigh General Hospital for their exceptional care and concern which led to our Mother’s long life.
