Bonnie Jean Elkins Cox, 92, of Lillydale, WV entered into eternal life on Saturday, August 21, 2021 at her residence following a long illness. She was born on November 10, 1928 in Lynco, WV a daughter of the late Luther L. and Alverta Toler Elkins. Bonnie is a lifelong resident of Wyoming County, a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith. She loved her flowers and working in the garden. Bonnie was the last member of her immediate family.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, Earl Stewart Cox brothers James Kenner, Ulvert O. and Rev. Roy N. Elkins sisters Hallie Ocheletree and Athleen Miller and a grandson Jason Daniel Simpson.
Survivors include four sons Steven Earl (Ruby) Cox of Lynco, Danny Joe Cox of Lillydale, Luther “Corky” (Lisa) Cox of Clear Fork, and Tracy Leroy Cox of Lillydale two daughters Sherry Irene Bradford of Summerville, SC, and Peggy Sue Carter of Clear Fork five grandchildren Stephanie Lynn (James) Tilley of Oceana, Steven Earl Cox, II of Lynco, Adam Shane (Angela) Bradford of Crouch’s Farm, Nathan Bradford of Orlando, FL, and Zachary Shane Cox of Clear Fork six great grandchildren Jade Lynn Cox, Steven Earl Cox, III, Natalie Renee Bradford, Lindsay Danielle (Dalton) Toler, Heaven Wilson, and Isabella Wilson two step great grandchildren Chris Gravley, and Jon Gravley a great great grandchild Alaina Jo Toler a step great great grandchild Tanner Gravley and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Graveside service will be held at 2:30 pm on Thursday, August 26th at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV with Rev. William Cook officiating. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
