Wyoming County Board of Education Approves Parental Choice of Face Coverings in Upcoming School Year

WYOMING COUNTY, W.Va. – While Wyoming County Schools prepare for the 2021-2022 school year, they are encouraging families to make the best health decisions for their children and staff for themselves.

The Wyoming County Board of Education voted 4-1 to support Superintendent Deirdre Cline’s recommendation of Parental Choice regarding face coverings while students are at schools.

On the first day of school, each student will receive a form which will ask parents or guardians to choose a mask or no mask for their child. The form must be returned to school no later than August 31st, 2021.

“As we all work together in this ever changing health situation, our focus must be on a safe and positive learning environment for children,” said Superintendent Deirdre Cline. “Everyone within Wyoming County Schools is excited to welcome our students to what will be a wonderful school year. Please call any school or the Central Office with questions.”

Cline also said more information about protocols will be posted and sent home in the near future.
