Carnell Harper Kenneda Thompson, 84, of Long Branch, WV, made her journey home on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. She was born on February 10, 1937 in Simon, WV a daughter of the late Frank and Cora Blankenship Harper.
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her first husband of forty-five years Ulin Kenneda her second husband of nineteen years Andrew Thompson a great granddaughter Tanisha Browning six brothers Brownie, Gibb, Firg, Kenny, Randall, and Bobby three sisters Essie, Short, and Frankie and a step daughter Lorraine Kennedy.
Those left to cherish her memory are her two sons Ronald (Roberta) Kenneda, and Donald (Carol) Kenneda all of Long Branch three daughters Leda (Jim) Cline of Lex, NC, Frances (Larry) Hatfield of Coal Mountain, and Tabatha (Richard) Blackburn of Long Branch two step sons Teddy (Kay) Thompson of VA, and Fred (Rose) Thompson of Sunhill four step daughters Corena Toler of Mullens, Lucille (Marvin) Blackburn of Long Branch, Dora (Brad) Kennedy of Long Branch, and Wynetta (Jeremy) Gautier of New Richmond three sisters Wilma Cline of Lynco, Thelma (Richard) Massey of Oceana, and Hazel (Joe B.) Conn of Long Branch special friend Gene Morgan fifteen grandchildren thirty-two great grandchildren six great great grandchildren and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm Sunday, August 15th at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Long Branch, WV with Pastor Lonnie Blankenship, Rev. Landon Blankenship, and Rev. Freddie Thompson officiating. She will be laid to rest in the Milty Morgan Cemetery, Long Branch, WV. Friends may gather with the family after 6 pm on Friday, August 13th and Saturday, August 14th at the church. Pallbearers will be grandsons, and great grandsons.
The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
