Elizabeth “Liz” Ann Payne, 61, of Avondale, WV, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday evening July 10, 2021. She was born on June 12, 1960 in Welch, WV, a daughter of the late Wilbur Auville and Shirley Jean Mitchem Bowles.
In addition to her parents her husband of 42 years Delbert Payne, also preceded her in death. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of the Mile Branch Church of the Living God.
Those left to cherish her memory are her daughters Heather Salyers and husband Adam of Bluefield, and Jennifer Payne of Raysal, a son Delbert John David Payne and wife Ella of English. She had seven grandchildren, three of whom she raised, Courtney Smith and husband Daniel of Vansant, VA, Alexis Clemins and husband Brian of Bluefield and Skyler Payne of the home, Ariel, Ally, Addison and Lil Delbert Payne of English, two great grandchildren Camree Smith and Brian Clemins and one on the way. Her siblings Hewey “Speedy” Auville and wife Teresa of Coon Branch, Carolyn Edwards and husband Bobby of Mile Branch, Aleshia Trent and husband Roland of Avondale, Roberta Bailey and husband James of Avondale, Melissa Addair of Mile Branch, and Eddie Auville and wife Felicity of Crumpler, a host of nieces and nephews. Liz also had some special friends that she loved very much.
Funeral service will be held at 12:00 pm on Thursday, July 15th at the Mile Branch Church of the Living God, with Pastor Cletis Jackson, Rev. John Wheeler and Rev. Danny Bowles officiating. She will be laid to rest in Powell Cemetery on Coon Branch Mountain. Friends may gather with the family from 6:00 PM to 11:00 PM on Wednesday July 14, 2021 at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
