TOMMY LEE JONES


Tommy Lee Jones, 80, of Thomasville, NC formerly of Ikes Fork, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at his home. Born November 27, 1940 in Ikes Fork, WV a son of the late Henry and Rosa Lee Jones. Tommy was a Christian and attended Hilltop Baptist Church in Thomasville for the past fourteen years. He was a United States Veteran of the Vietnam Era, deployed with the 82nd Airborne Division in support of Operation Power Pack, the invasion of the Dominican Republic, to restore democracy.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by five brothers Muncie, Jack and John Jones, and Bobby, and Bill Lee and a sister Dorthy Damron.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 54 years Janice Roberts Jones two sons Keith Jones of Midland, TX and fiancé’ Cheryl of Alabama, and Rodney Jones and wife Norma of Asheboro, NC a daughter Jennifer Whitaker and husband Lonnie of Thomasville a sister Peggy Glavas of Franklin Park, IL five granddaughters three grandsons one great granddaughter and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12:30 pm on Thursday, May 27th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Erwin Gregory officiating. He will be laid to rest in Robert’s Family Cemetery, Cub Creek, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11:30 AM until time of service on Thursday at the funeral home. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard. Pallbearers will be Keith Jones, Rodney Jones, Jake Jones, and Lonnie Whitaker.
