THURMAN MULLINS


Thurman Mullins, Sr., 64, passed away Sunday, May 23, 2021, at CAMC following a short battle with cancer. He was born March 3, 1957 and was the son of the late Billy and Vonnie Roberts Mullins.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by two brothers, Clinton and Clyde (Tiny) Mullins, a sister, Shirley Mullins, a nephew Brandon Church and a niece Amanda Mullins.
Those left to cherish Thurman’s memories are his companion of 10 and half years Lisa Auville of the home a son, Thurman (TJ) Mullins Jr and Allison of Iaeger three daughters, Jessica Mullins and companion Michael Thomas of Hensley, Rebecca Whitt and companion Ryan Gibson of Claremont, NC and Arvanda Mullins and companion John Gibson, of Claremont, NC a stepdaughter Rebecca Vanover and companion Joseph Edwards and unborn baby. Thurman also leaves behind seven living brothers and sisters, Leonard and Brenda Mullins, of Hensley, Gracie and Mike Kennedy, of Iaeger, Drema (Cricket) and Keith Delong, of Avondale, Rita Chaffins, of Avondale, Chris and Angie Mullins, of Orchard Branch, Charles Mullins, of Avondale, and Courtney Mullins, of Garland his grandchildren of which he adored, Shane Mullins, Kailey Mullins, Hailey Mitchem, Leland Mitchem, Khloe Whitt, Hunter Mullins, Madison Steffey, Zoey Steffey, Waylon Gibson, Ethan Riffe and one on the way a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
In Thurman’s time here on Earth he worked in the coal mines as a Roof Bolter for more than 20 years. He enjoyed and had a passion for riding horses and raising chickens. He spent many weekends at horse shows where he met a lot of people that became lifelong friends as he never met a stranger. Thurman loved to joke and carry on with his family. Although Thurman had many friends, he had a special friend, Rocky Kidd. All the lives and hearts he touched may truly never be known.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday, May 28th at Christ Cathedral, Iaeger, WV with Rev. Butch White officiating. He will be laid to rest in Mullins Cemetery, Iaeger, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9 pm on Thursday, May 27th at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
