Tanner Whitten and Chase York have been named to the 2021 Class AA boys’ All-State basketball

team as Honorable Mention selections, as chosen by the West Virginia Sports Writers Association.
Both played for Wyoming East, with Whitten a junior and York a senior for Coach Derek Brooks’

Warriors.
Whitten, at 6-2, played primarily in the front court for East, but had the range to move outside
and knock down the three point shot.
The 5-10 York operated as a shooting guard on offense for the Warriors, who were 7-6 in the
regular season before falling to Bluefield in the sectionals and Chapmanville in the regionals.
