PHYLLIS MAE COOK

Beloved Mother, Grandmother and Sister, Phyllis Mae Ratliff Cook, 85 of Itmann, passed away peacefully at home on May 12, 2021. 

Born July 6, 1935 in Pike County, Kentucky. She was daughter of the late Airs and Essie Ratliff. Phyllis is rejoicing in Heaven with her husband James “Jimmy” Cook, whom she spent 51 wonderful years with. 

In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her brothers Eugene and Bobby Ratliff: sister and best friend Edith Sturgeon. 

She was of the Pentecostal faith and loved her church family at Pentecostal Holiness of Mullens. Phyllis was a homemaker and loved nothing more than raising her kids on Itmann Hill around family and friends. She was a University of Kentucky basketball fanatic, loved her home away from home on the Greenbrier River and she very rarely missed a sporting event that her kids and grandkids were involved in. 

Phyllis is survived by her son Rickey (Ashley) Cook of Itmann, WV: daughter Katrina Cook (Kelsey Lawrence) of Frankfort, KY: grandchildren: Brandi (Casey) Repass and Nick Cook all of Mullens, WV: Shana and Carlene Godsey of Itmann, WV: great-grandchildren: Dylan Repass, Kaden Norris, Makena Repass and Keaton James Cook: sisters: Edna Vaughn and Anna Rhea Ray of Phelps, KY: brother: Herstel Ratliff of Pikeville, KY: and many nieces, nephews, family and friends. 

Services will be held at 12:00 Noon on Monday May 17, 2021 at the Mullens Pentecostal Holiness Church in Mullens, WV with Rev. Lewis Arnold officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley WV. 

Friends are welcome to join the family from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service on Monday. Family will serve as pallbearers.
