Paul Randall “Randy” Spears, 61, of Bolt, WV went home to be with his Lord on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at CAMC General, Charleston, WV following a short illness. He was born on October 26, 1959 in Wayne, MI the son of the late Gayle Randall and Olivia Lavonne Tilley Spears. Randy served proudly in the United States Army and was honorably discharged in May 1979. He is a 30 plus year employee of the coal mining industry. Randy last worked at Patriot Coal Company until he was injured in a coal mining accident in 2012. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his grandparents Paul and Eileen Tilley, and Virgil and Hannah Mae Spears three brothers Brian Spears, Darrin Spears, and Shawn Spears, his loving wife of 17 years Linda Vass Spears and step son Adam Vass. Those left to cherish his memory are his loving wife Bethann Cornett Spears a son Paul R. Spears, II stepsons Charles Vass and wife Tara, and their daughter Leela, Cody Smith, and Joseph Cornett sisters Lawanna Stewart and companion Jessee Meade, Leisa Spears Lester and husband Eddie, Libby Allison and husband Terry, and Connie West and companion Dale Griffith sister-in-laws Margie Clay Spears, Marta Gilliam, Christy Bailey, and Marcy McKinney brother-in-laws Skip Cornett, and Bill Cornett and a host of nieces, nephews, and other loving family and friends. Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Monday, May 17th at the Bolt Church of God, Bolt, WV. He will be laid to rest in Sunset Memorial Gardens, Beckley, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until time of service on Monday at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
