Windell Niel Stewart, 64, of Matheny, WV passed away on Monday, May 3, 2021 at his home following a long illness. He was born on May 29, 1956 in Welch, WV a son of the late Joseph Forrest and Sadie Dora Stewart. Windell is a member of the Matheny United Methodist Church and Choir. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a sister Lola and Ed Stewart and two brothers David Forrest Stewart, and Earl Stewart. Survivors include his loving wife of 36 years Brenda Milam Stewart step children Pamela Shumate of Matheny, Fred Allen Birchfield, Jr. and wife Linda of Lynco, and Sally Birchfield Woods and husband Chris of Charlotte, NC four sisters Sadie Louise Stewart and husband Calvin, Linda Counts and husband Jack, Lakie Bailey and husband Bernard, Jr., and Rhonda Lynn Stewart and husband Sam two brothers Ash P. Stewart, and Dale Robert Stewart and wife Teresa two sister-in-laws Alice Lynn Stewart, and Joseline Stewart fourteen grandchildren twelve great grandchildren one great great grandchild expected in June 2021 and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at a later date. The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
