Evangelist Eric Scott Lusk, 40, of Oceana, WV went home to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on Friday, April 16, 2021 at Raleigh General Hospital, Beckley, WV. He was born on April 26, 1980 in Beckley, WV, a son of Andrew Fairley and Donna Rae Harold Lusk of Oceana.

He is a 1998 graduate of Oceana High School and a member of the Oceana High School Alumni Association and the OHS Hall of Fame. Since graduation from Oceana High School, Eric’s primary focus has been on Christian ministry. As a teenager, he felt God’s calling on his life to preach. He was licensed by the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church in 2007, where he remained an active member. Eric completed the required course of study in the West Virginia Baptist Convention School of Christian Studies and was awarded a Certificate in General Studies in October 2010. Eric received his Certificate of Ordination for the work of ministry by the Rockcastle Baptist Association on June 24, 2012. As a member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church, he has served as Adult Men’s Sunday School teacher, Vacation Bible School worker, as well as a member of the Missions Committee and Usher Board. Previously, Eric was active in the Fellowship of Oceana Area Churches, whose focus is to promote fellowship among churches and to meet the needs of those less fortunate outside of the church. Being a fan of Southern Gospel Music since childhood, Eric has enjoyed sharing God’s love through song by singing with his parents in various churches and for community functions. Eric sang baritone in the trio named “The Eric Lusk Singers.” Eric was also given the honor of singing a solo at his high school graduation. He sang, “I Just Want to Make a Mark.” His first song in church was Amazing Grace at two years of age. Eric said he enjoyed using Facebook to encourage and enlighten others.
