Community Clean Up This Saturday in Mullens for Conley Street Playground

MULLENS, W.Va. – There will be a community cleanup day at the Conley Street Playground in Mullens this Saturday, April 3rd, 2021.

“I will be up there around 8:30am, but volunteers can come as they’d like,” said Nathan England Sr. about the event. “After assessing the conditions up there yesterday, there’s not a whole lot of work we can do by hand. If volunteers want to come, we can clean up remaining leaves, scrape the moss and debris from the basketball court, and we will be cutting up and moving damaged playground equipment to make room for new equipment.”

England said more work on the property will require equipment at a future date.

“The road needs repaired, we need some gravel for the road, and we need to create some drainage for the playground,” said England. “It’s a work in progress, but we’re working, and progressing.”

Volunteers are asked to stop by Conley Street Playground in Mullens on Saturday, April 3rd, 2021 throughout the day.

“If you can be there Saturday that will be just fine. If you cannot, no worries,” said England. “There’s not a whole lot to do by hand, but we can use all the hands we can get in some way.”
