John Hanshaw, 71, of Skin Fork, went to be with the Lord on March 8, 2021 at his home. He was born on September 9, 1949 in Coal Mountain, WV a son of the late Eula and Allie Mae Hatfield Hanshaw. John is a retired coal miner, a member of the UMWA and the Apostolic House of Faith. He loved being on the farm, having his family and friends around, and spending time with his little dog, Remmi.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Wilburn, Onnie and Terri Hanshaw; and a sister Paulene Toler.
Survivors include his loving wife of 49 years Glenna “Gloria” Kennedy Hanshaw; two daughters Stephanie Hanshaw, and Renea (Amos) Duty; grandchildren Corey Osborne and Kassadie England both of NC, Courtney Osborne, and John Pack both of Beaver, Keeylie Hanshaw, Justin Waggoner, and Kelysie Blankenship all of Kopperston, and Keriston Blankenship and John Simpson both of Pineville; great grandchildren Liam Pack, Milla Pack, Jason Waggoner, and Arorah Waggoner; brother Buddy Hanshaw; sisters Deanie Reed, Mary Cecil and Vonnie Collens; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Friday March 12th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Tommy White and Pastor Todd Keneda officiating. He will be laid to rest in Hanshaw Family Cemetery, Skin Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 pm on Thursday March 11th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
