Wyoming County Tax Office Offering Select DMV Services Starting Feb. 1st

PINEVILLE, W.Va. – Starting February 1st, 2021, the Wyoming County Tax Office will be a part of the DMV County Renewal system.
Under the new system, counties can renew vehicle registration up to 3 months early and up to 11 months late. Counties can also renew most Class A (passenger vehicles) and Class G (motorcycles) as one or two years, but are not required to do so. SPV plate class is also available for renewal, but campers, trailers or boats cannot be renewed with this system.
Citizens are provided a start to finish service that is equal to regional office or kiosk visits, so when they leave the office, their car is renewed and they have a valid registration card and sticker in hand instead of waiting to receive their registration card in the mail.
The Tax Office will be able to print new registration cards. Anyone without a DMV renewal notice can still take advantage of the services, but must be able to provide both title numbers and plate numbers to the Tax Office.
In the case of 2 year renewals, the Tax Office’s policy is that proof of personal property taxes being paid must be presented.
The Tax Office will also verify that renewal notices are valid and can be renewed at the DMV. This is a security measure to prevent people from getting tags for cars that were sold, transferred or suspended by the DMV for various reasons, including being flagged as an uninsured vehicle.
Before making a trip to one of the Regional Offices, give the Tax Office a call at (304) 732-8000.
