HELEN MARIE TERRY-ROLLINS


Helen Marie Terry-Rollins, age 88, of Oceana, WV while surrounded by her loving family, after a courageous fight against many health-related illnesses, departed quietly into God’s place of peace in her eternal journey on January 13, 2021, at Bower’s Hospice House, Beckley, WV. Born June 3, 1932, in Midway, WV, Helen was the daughter of the late Charles and Lula Ann Terry. Deceased siblings include Walter Terry, Carnie Terry, George Terry, James Terry, and Robert Terry.
Helen made her home in Lynco, WV with her wedded love, the late Jonathan Darrell Rollins, Sr. whom she married on April 6, 1953, in Sabine, WV. Helen was a loving, humble spirit that adored her family more than her own life and always spoke kindly to others. Helen loved gardening, canning, and spending quality time loving, laughing, taking care of her family, and loved her sweet Persian cat, Chloe Does. During the past several years, Helen looked forward to attending church services, playing Bingo, and sharing long meaningful talks by telephone and over good meals with her best friends the late Nancy Rollins Milam (sister-in-law), and the late,  Pauline Akers.  Those already passed over in Helen’s immediate family had gained their eternal wings, were her two beautiful daughters, baby Patricia Rollins and Diana L. Rollins-West (Tom).
Helen is survived, leaving an extremely loving legacy, by sons, Jonathan D. Rollins, Jr. and his wife, Glenna, of Beckley, and two of their sons, Dr. Jonathan D. Rollins III (grandson), and his girlfriend,  Caitlin Teetor,  and Nathaniel N. Rollins, (grandson) and her other son, Bobby J. Rollins, his wife Edith, and their three daughters, Amanda Reese (granddaughter), her husband John, and their two daughters Maddison and Rylee (great-granddaughters), Ashley Amick (granddaughter), her husband Aaron, and their daughter Erin Brooke (great-granddaughter), and Kayla Stewart (granddaughter) and her companion Jason Jenkins, and daughters Arianna and Nora. In addition to her immediate family, Helen is also survived by many cherished loved ones and amazing friends.
In celebration of Helen’s life, graveside service will be held on Monday, January 18th, at 1.00 PM at Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV with Rev. William Cook officiating. Family members will serve as pallbearers. The family would like to thank the kindhearted caregivers of Harper Mills, Beckley, WV, and The Doug and Lucy Bowers Hospice House for their compassionate and gentle care and the generous love shown Helen during her last years and moments in this life.
