ARMINTA BAILEY STAPLETON


Arminta Bailey Stapleton, 78, of Cyclone, WV passed away peacefully on Friday January 8, 2021 at her son’s home in North Carolina where she was surrounded by her family after a long illness.  She was born on July 12, 1942 in Wyoming County, WV a daughter of the late McKinley and Antha Mae Blankenship Bailey. She loved her family dearly. She also loved spending time with anyone who would visit or call just to talk.  
In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her loving husband of 50 years Billy Gene Stapleton; seven sisters Esie Pearl Cook, Garnet Elkins, Elsie Riddle, Sarah Etta Coburn, Nellie Jane Paynter, Murna Toler and Sue Ann Bailey; and four brothers James Lee Bailey, Leonard Bailey, Jason Bailey and Joe Douglas Bailey.
Survivors include a daughter Melissa Dawn Ball and husband Ray of Conover, NC; three sons David McKinley Bailey of Newton, NC, Chris Allan Stapleton and wife Donna of Newton, NC and Richard Earl Stapleton of Maiden, NC; five grandchildren Anthony Billy Ray Stapleton, Ashley Nicole Lowman and husband William, Ethan Paul Stapleton and wife Patricia, Christopher Earl Stapleton and Richard Earl Stapleton, Jr.; on great grandchild Valerie Lynn Stapleton; a brother Johnny Lee Bailey and wife Betty of Cyclone; brother-in-law and sister-in-laws Francis Bailey of Newton, NC, Michael and Ruth Bias of Murphy, NC and Belinda Saunders of Longwood, FL; special friend Jennifer Snypes; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Thursday January 14th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Merle Walls officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 pm on Wednesday January 13th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. A special thank you to Carolina Caring & Hospice of Catawba County for everything they did.
