Dennie Jay Cline, 72, of Simon, WV went home to be with the Lord on January 5, 2021 in Beckley Appalachian Regional Hospital surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 8, 1948 in Simon, WV a son of the late Noah and Pricie Kenneda Cline. Dennie attended the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church and is a member of the UMWA. He had a very strong love for the Lord and enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching football, his favorite team was the Pittsburg Steelers, spending time with his family, but most of all, attending church. Dennie had a contagious smile that everyone loved.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by a son Dennis Scott Cline; three brothers Wonnie Lee Cline, Everette Cline and Billy James Cline; five sisters Charlene Cline, Linda Faye Cline, Vonnie Jean Huff, Fredona Morgan and Donna Cline Irick.
Survivors include his loving wife of 47 years Brenda Gail Hurley Cline; a son Noah Robert Cline and wife Felicia of Clear Fork; a sister Bonnie Morgan and husband Jack of Simon; a brother Bennie Cline and wife Carnetta of Simon; two grandchildren Dennis Scott Cline and Bristol Emmilee Cline both of Clear Fork; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Sunday January 10th at the Long Branch Freewill Baptist Church, Simon, WV with Pastor Lonnie Blankenship officiating. He will be laid to rest in Hurley Family Cemetery, Simon, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 6 pm to 12 on Friday January 8th and Saturday January 9th at the church. Pallbearers will be family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Billy Jack Morgan and Misty Lester for their special love and support.
