Edna “Ruth” Adkins Paynter, 70, of Cyclone, WV went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday December 30, 2020. She was born on February 2, 1950 in Cyclone, WV a daughter of the late George Dayton and Liza Toler Adkins. Ruth was a dedicated wife, mother and homemaker, where she took pride in raising her four sons and being a coal miner’s wife. She enjoyed cooking and cleaning and loved listening to her gospel music. Ruth was a member of Toler Baptist Church for many years.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, the love of her life, ardieth “Buddy” Paynter; and a brother Everett Adkins.
Those left to cherish her memory are her four sons Melvin Ray (Judy) Paynter, Phillip (Jennifer) Paynter, and Kevin (Tabithia) Paynter all of Cyclone and Brian (Jessica) Paynter of Oceana; eight grandchildren Kourtnee, Austin, Kelsee, Emily, Haleigh, Seth, Kanyon, and Isaiah; three brothers; three sisters; and a host of nieces, nephews and other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 12 pm on Tuesday January 5th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Nathan Vance officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her loving husband in Toler’s Cemetery, Toney Fork, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 am until time of service on Tuesday at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
