JOHN JULIAN VIGIL


John Julian Vigil, 76, of Indian Creek, WV passed away on Saturday December 5, 2020 at his home after a long battle with cancer. He was born on July 4, 1944, a son of the late Pablita and Joseph Vigil of Colorado Springs, CO. John is a United States Marine Corp. Vietnam Veteran, a member of the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard and a coal miner. He loved being outside whether it be in the building tinkering on something, mowing the grass, or hunting and fishing. He is the member of the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his special aunt, Floraida; a uncle, Richard Vigil; a brother Ernest Elmer Vigil; his mother-in-law, Granny Gladys Brown; a very special grandson, John Wayne Brown; and grandson Jerry Wayne Brown.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 54 years, Sue Ann Vigil; son, Gerald (Susie) Brown of Indian Creek; two daughters; Denise (David) Hornsby of Rockview and Pablita (Shawn) Mullins of Beckley; seven grandchildren; Sara (Randy) Trent of McDonald Mill Creek, Carmella Brown and Jay Kennedy of Skin Fork, Timothy Brown of Rockview, Joseph Billups of Beckley, Sally Billups of Beckley, Isaac and Draven Mullins; six great-grandchildren, Kayla Trent, Abigail Trent, Elijah Kennedy, Aliyah Kennedy, Layla Onorato, and Gavin Braesicke; three sisters Charlotte and Kim of Colorado Springs, CO, and Debbie Martinez of Pueblo, CO; and a host of other family and friends.
Services for Mr. Vigil will be held at 1 pm on Friday December 11, 2020 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Pastor David Johnson officiating. He will be laid to rest in the Cline Family Cemetery, Sunhill, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 11 until the time of service on Friday at the funeral home. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will be conducting military rites. The family would like to send a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice, and Angela “Faye” Cline from
