Ott Kennedy, 73, of Jumping Branch, WV went home to be with the Lord on Saturday November 28, 2020 at Bowers Hospice House, Beckley. He was born on May 2, 1947 in Simon, WV a son of the late Azil and Ethel Morgan Kennedy. Ott is a United States Navy Veteran and a member of the UMWA. He enjoyed posting about the bible and politics. He studied before summing things. He was a 1966 graduate of Baileysville High School and enjoyed growing wildlife both animals and plants.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by three brothers Buck Denver Kennedy, Dexter Kennedy and Winford Kennedy; an infant sister; mother and father-in-law Roy and Edith Acord; two sisters-in-law Bonita Kennedy and Laverne Acord; and a brother-in-law Wayne Acord.
Survivors include his loving wife of 50 years Carol Acord Kennedy; a daughter Melissa “Missy” Kennedy of Jumping Branch; a son Jared Shane Kennedy of Jumping Branch; a sister Carnetta (Benny) Cline of Long Branch; four brothers Toney Kennedy of Clear Fork, Bradley (Dora) Kennedy of Long Branch, Tom (Shana) Kennedy of Reedy Creek and Charlie (Stella) Kennedy of Long Branch; three sisters-in-law Dovie Kennedy of Clear Fork, Pauline Kennedy of VA and Kimberly Kennedy of Long Branch; his special Navy friends Ed Ingram and Dale Baxter; his cancer center friends; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 11 am on Wednesday December 9th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Jeff Greene and Sister Patty Morgan officiating. He will be laid to rest in Rose Lawn Memorial Gardens, Princeton, WV. The Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military Rites. Friends may gather with the family from 6-9 pm on Tuesday December 8th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
