Billy Ray Goodson, 81, of Oceana, WV passed away on Tuesday November 3, 2020 at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, WV. He was born on February 19, 1939 in Monroe County, WV a son of the late William Thomas and Lottie Mae Harrah Goodson.
In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by his wife Alberta White Goodson; a daughter Sandra Lynn Goodson; and two sisters Genetta Honaker and Zena Adkins.
Survivors include two daughters Tammy (Keith) Snyder of Mocksville, NC and Shari Stone of Oceana; a son Donnie (Melissa) Goodson of Oceana; three sisters Margaret (Butch) Parker of Beckley, Louella Willis of Beckley and Emma (Tommy) Whitecotton of Cleveland, OH; two brothers Carl (Dorothy) Goodson of Cyclone and Willie Keaton Goodson of Cleveland, OH; four grandchildren Adam Logsdon, B. J. Logsdon, Austin Morgan and Kyle Goodson; four great grandchildren Blake Morgan, L. J. Logsdon, Tyson Morgan and one due in January 2021; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday November 7th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 1 pm until time of service on Saturday at the funeral home. In keeping with his wishes he will be cremated following the service and laid to rest beside his wife in Cook Cemetery, Lynco, WV.
