FRENCHIE MILLARD DUTY


Frenchie Millard Duty, 69, of Oceana, WV went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday October 27, 2020 at Select Specialty Regency Hospital, Charleston, WV. He was born on March 19, 1951 in Gilbert, WV a son of the late Nelline Smith Hatfield. Frenchie is a United States Army Vietnam Veteran, a member of the VFW, American Legion and the UMWA.
In addition to his mother he is preceded in death by his grandmother who raised him Hulda Jane Carter; a son Frenchie Scott Ball; and a brother Billy Ray Hatfield.
Survivors include his loving wife of six years Darlene Cooke – Duty; daughters Tonya (Woody) Marcum of Chapmanville and Dawn Cobb of Oceana; sons Josh (Amanda) Duty of Oceana, Frenchie Brian Duty of Indore, WV and Kevin Cooke of Logan; a sister Florence Boyle of Maryland; nieces Susan Cooper and Deborah Brown both of Maryland; grandchildren Hannah Glandon, Keeley Duty, Layla Duty, Breanna Duty, Ethan Duty, Eli Duty, Kiara Blankenship, Abigail Keener, D. J. (Sandra) Shorter, Trey Cobb, Miranda Taylor, and Alex Marcum; great grandchildren Serenity, and Avery Grace; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1 pm on Friday October 30, 2020 in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Bro. Jeff Ward and Bro. Curtis Lester officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 12 pm until time of service on Friday October 30, 2020 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Military rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Veterans Honor Guard.
