Gerald Daniel “Doc” Neal, 81, of Crab Orchard, formerly of Mullens, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2020 at the VA Medical Center, Beckley.

Born February 8, 1939 at Beckley, he was the son of the late Gerald and Mae (Hale) Neal.

Doc was an avid outdoorsman with a gift for trout fishing. He also enjoyed a good western book in his favorite chair with his dogs, Snoop and Jazz.

In addition to his parents he is also preceded in death by his brother, Dave Neal; and daughter-in-law, Stacy Neal.

Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Neal; sister, Wanda Lou Lindsey; his children, Jim Ashley and his wife, Toni, and Todd Neal; grandchildren, Jason, John, James, Triston, Truman, and Trever; special nieces, Laura Coalson and Kim Powell; numerous other nieces and nephews; and his special friends, David and Evelyn Thompson.

Services will be 12 Noon, Friday, August 21, 2020 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Rev. David Thompson officiating. Entombment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Beckley.

Friends may call one hour prior to services Friday at the funeral home.

Military graveside rites will be conducted by the Wyoming County Honor Guard.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
