Herbert Junior New, 66, of Ikes Fork, WV passed away on June 16, 2020 at his home. He was born on March 31, 1954 in Welch, WV a son of Geraldine Vance New of Brenton and the late Eugene New. Herbert retired from US Steel Pinnacle Mine and is a member of the UMWA.
In addition to his father he is preceded in death by a sister Ina Jean New; and nephew Johnny Lee New.
In addition to his mother survivors include  his companion and caretaker Barbara Facello Bishop; two daughters Jaime New of Beckley and Sara (Mitch) Mills of Parkersburg; three sisters Ethel Marie (Whitie Lester) Toler of Hanover, Margie Sammons of Bradshaw and Shelby Sammons of Hanover; two brothers Lawrence (Delana) Sammons of Hanover and Joe (Karen) Simpson of Brookville, PA; one grandchild Emma Price; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 12 pm on Friday June 19th in the Chapel of Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV with Rev. Tommy Knotts officiating. He will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV. Friends may gather with the family from 5-8 pm on Thursday June 18th at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
