Herbert Hoover High School was located in Kanawha County, a consolidation of Clendenin High School and Elkview High School in 1963.
Herbert Hoover High School was damaged by some seven feet of water inside the school in the 2016 flood and has been demolished, with classes continuing for for Hoover students in modular units until a new school is built.
The picture shown is of the school several years before the flood.
Hoover’s sports teams are called the Huskies.
