Another soldier called home, well done thy good and faithful servant. Odell Cook, 89, of Otsego passed away on Friday, May 29, 2020 at the Bowers Hospice House, Beckley following a short illness.
Born June 22, 1930 at New Richmond, he was the son of the late Orville and Nola (Halsey) Cook.
Odell began his 40 plus year coalmining career at Tralee helping build the Tralee Prep Plant, later worked there as a Heavy Equipment Operator to reclaim the Tralee mine property, and retiring from the prep plant at Sabine. He was a member of UMWA and was a faithful member of the Otsego Bible Chapel.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 66 years, May Lou Cook of Otsego; one son, Michael Cook and his wife, Linda of Otsego; and several nieces and nephews and numerous cousins.
Services will be 12 Noon, Tuesday, June 2, 2020 at Tankersley Funeral Home Chapel, Mullens with Pastor Mike Endreson officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Beckley.
Friends may call one hour prior to services Tuesday at the funeral home.
CDC guidelines and social distancing will be followed will be followed for the visitation and funeral.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
