Betty Lou Cook, 88, of Kopperston, WV, went peacefully to be with Jesus on Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Crestwood House Residential Assisted Living in Titusville, FL. Born July 27, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Dallas Lambert and Gladys Paynter Lambert. Betty was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend to all. She was a follower of Jesus and exuded His love with great grace and dignity. Betty’s smile lit up the room, and her kindness was a gift that she gave to all that she came into contact with. Her love for her family was strong and true. She will be missed by all that knew her. Betty was a member of the Toneda Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 69 years, Herbert F. Cook, a brother, Jimmy Dale Lambert, four sisters, Dreama Pavilak, Dorothy Tilley, Bobby Gentry, Kay McGraw, and a son-in-law, Carl E. “Tuffy” Fleenor, Jr.
Those left to cherish her memory are a daughter Beverly Fleenor of Kopperston; a son Tom (Janet) Cook of Titusville, FL. Grandchildren Anessia (Rich) Thomas of Chesapeake, VA; Brandon (Kristy) Fleenor of Clear Fork, WV; Chris (Mandy) Fleenor of Glen Allen, VA; Thomas (Jennifer) Cook of Titusville, FL; and April (Calvin) Brown of Titusville, FL. Ten great-grandchildren Aly Fleenor, Jaeden Fleenor, Ian Thomas, Parker Thomas, Mandolin Fleenor, Stone Fleenor, Peyton Cook, Avery Cook, Brinley Cook, and Hayden Brown; a sister Jackie Hamilton of Elkins, WV; and a host of other loving family and friends.
Graveside services will be held at 1 pm on Wednesday, May 6th at the Palm Memorial Gardens Mausoleum, Matheny, WV with Pastor Johnny Maynard officiating. She will be laid to rest in Palm Memorial Gardens, Matheny, WV.
The family is being served by the Stafford Family Funeral Home, Lynco, WV.
