Wyoming County Day plans being finalized

Wyoming County Day at the Legislature activities get under way at 9:30a.m. on March 25 and will continue throughout the day.

Booths will be on display from 9:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the Upper Rotunda of the Capital, according to Christy Laxton, one of the organizers of the event.

Refreshments will be available from 9:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The House of Delegates and State Senate will be in session at 11 a.m.

“Those are open if people want to attend those sessions,” Laxton commented.

Photos with local legislators will be taken in the Senate chamber at 1 p.m and an afternoon meeting with legislators will take place in the House Government Organization Room from 1:15 to 2:15 p.m.

Break down of displays is at 2:30 p.m.

A reception is slated at the Governor’s Mansion from 4 p.. to 7 p.m. Gov. Earl Ray Tomblin and his wife, Joanne Jaeger Tomblin, will speak between 4 and 5 p.m., Laxton reported.

David Runyon will be providing entertainment.

Awards and door prizes will be presented during the evening.

“Everything is going pretty well,” Laxton said.
