Wyoming East and Westside have big games tonight.

The Class AA No. 5 Warriors host No. 2 Bluefield at New Richmond.

With No. 1 Scott losing to Tolsia on Tuesday, the Beavers will probably take over the No. 1 spot in the rankings if they get by WEHS. East, on the other hand, will almost surely move up in the standings with a victory.

East beat Summers County, 75-68, on Tuesday to improve to 7-1. Bluefield topped James Monroe, 70-49, and is now 5-1.

Westside heads across the county line to meet Logan.

The Class AAA Wildcats are not in their usual spot near the top of the polls, but Westside coach Nick Cook knows the game will be a challenge.

“It’s a tough atmosphere at Willie Akers Arena,” he observed, “but it’s a great atmosphere.”

WHS (6-4) is coming off a season-high 105 points in Tuesday’s 105-55 drubbing of Man.

Westside plays at Man on Tuesday.

“We’re on the Logan County tour,” Cook joked.
