A Baileysville man accused of holding his grandparents at knife point and stealing their truck has been arrested.

Medwin Willard 33, “had an altercation with his grandparents and beat them both up,” on Thursday evening, according to Wyoming County Sheriff Randall Aliff.

Aliff said Willard held his grandparents at knife point and kept them and a juvenile hostage in their own home.

Willard took a Chevrolet truck which belonged to his grandparents, Aliff reported, and was soon apprehended by Lt. Jimmy White.

The grandfather was transported to a hospital, and Willard’s grandmother was air lifted to a hospital.

Willard is charged with two counts of malicious wounding, three counts of kidnapping, grand larceny and two counts of crimes against the elderly.

Members of the Sheriff’s Department and West Virginia State Police handled the investigation, Aliff said.
