Westside, East battle in hoops tonight

Wyoming East and Westside renew the state’s biggest basketball rivalry tonight at Clear Fork.

Both teams have had a week to prepare since completing play in the Family HealthCare Classic on Dec. 28.

The Renegades losto to Fairmont Senior, 74-60, and beat Point Pleasant, 67-61, at the FHC. Westside is now 5-3 on the season and is led in scoring by Corey Bowles and Justin Cogar.

East is 5-1 and beat Point Pleasant, 92-40, and Fairmont Senior, 73-63, at the FHC. Four Warrior average scoring in double figures, led by Brett Bowling at 17 ppg.

This game will also factor into sectional seeding. Currently, both Westside and East are 1-0 against sectional teams with wins over Independence.
