Wyoming East whipped Point Pleasant and Westside fell to Fairmont Senior on the opening night of the Family HealthCare Classic on Thursday night at WEHS.

East crushed the Big Blacks, 92-40. The Warriors jumped to an 11-0 lead in the first three minutes and cruised on from there.

Brett Bowling scored 21 for East, and Josh Tunstalle had 15. Tyler Lester added 11.

Fairmont Senior used a strong first half on its way to a 74-60 victory over Westside.

The Polar Bears, who qualified for the Class AAA state tournament last year, built a 35-17 lead by halftime, and the Renegades were never able to get the margin under double digits after that.

Justin Cogar scored 17 to pace Westside.

The classic wraps up tonight with the Renegades (4-3) taking on Point Pleasant at 6 p.m. and East (4-1) battling Fairmont Senior at 8 p.m.
