Police arrest two in connection with Mullens break-ins
by John Conley
Police arrested two men recently in connection with break-ins in the Mullens area, according to Police Chief Ray Toler.
Sidney Dunford was arrested on a charge of day time burglary, his bond was set at $10,000 cash. Eddie Graham was arrested on a bond violation and has no bond.
Both men are being held in the Southern Regional Jail, Toler reported.
Police recovered jewelry and other items after several instances of break-ins in Mullens.
Graham and Dunford “are facing several more charges,” Toler stated.
A citizen gave law enforcement a boost by following one of the suspects after a break-in and a neighbor who called police.
“This was a case of the community and police agencies working as a team to end a several weeks crime spree,” Toler commented.
“Officers still have items that have not been identified,” Toler said. “If you still have items that have not been identified and if you have had a recent break-in in the Mullens area and are missing jewelry, contact us.”
Residents can call Toler at 304-294-6666 or Sgt. Will Hall of the Sheriff’s Department at 304-732-8000.
Toler and Assistant Chief Jack Meadows and Hall, Deputy Kenny Wallen and Deputy J.W. Clemins of the Sheriff’s Department are all working cases related to the break-ins. Toler reported.
Sgt. Maddy of the Jesse State Police is investigating stolen items sold or pawned in Raleigh County, Toler indicated.
