MATHENY — Mary Ruth Okes Hatcher Cook, 90, of Matheny, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 20, 2012, following a sudden illness. Born May 23, 1921, in Shady Spring, she was the daughter of the late Frederick Morton Okes and Willie Emeline Furrow Okes Jolly. Funeral services were held 11 a.m., Wednesday, May 23, 2012, in Evans Memorial Chapel with President Edward Laxton officiating. Evans Funeral Home of Oceana is serving the Cook family.
