Bluefield consolidated its No. 1 ranking in AA, whipping No. 2 Wyoming East, 73-53 last Saturday afternoon at Bluefield State. The contest was close through the first half, and the Beavers took a 37-34 lead into the dressing room. Bluefield outscored WEHS, 19-8, in the third period, and the game was never close after that. Anthony Eades had 26 for the winners, and LeKiel Collier scored 21. Marcus Schofield (18), Luke Campbell (15) and Taylor Smith provided most of the points for the Warriors, who dropped to 6-2. It was East's first-ever loss to Bluefield and the worst loss to a AA team since losing at Westside, 61-42, in February 2006. The Warriors visit Oak Hill on Friday.
