A familiar face took the honors at the Wyoming County Spelling Bee.
Katelyn Sanders, who has finished first or second in every bee since 2008, was the winner in Thursday's competition at Pineville Middle School.
The Oceana Middle eighth grader clinched first place in the fifth round.
Five additional rounds ensued to determine the runner-up, with Brittany Grimmett of Herndon Consolidated spelling "cholera" to seal the deal.
Megan Sizemore of Pineville Middle is the alternate.
Despite her experience, Sanders says she still gets nervous at the spelling bee.
"You don't know what word you might get," she explained. "It could be something you don't know coming up."
Sanders was previously champion in 2012 and was runner-up in 2008, 2009 and 201.
"I study an hour every night," she remarked.
Sanders and Grimmett will move on to the regional competition at Capital High School in March.
