A huge truck found getting through Mullens impossible on Friday evening. The truck, reportedly headed to Williamson, was not able to maneuver the Butch Goode Bridge. With the aid of police and firefighters, it backed down Howard Avenue. Efforts to turn it around to go forward to the railway crossing at the entrance of town (pictured here) were unsuccessful. Ultimately, the truck had to back up the street and was pulled over the crossing with the aid of a wrecker. It then backed on to the C.C. “Sonnie” Phillips Bypass.
