Renegades win home opener

Westside held Shady Spring scoreless over the final 2:57 and beat the Tigers, 81-71, in the home opener at Clear Fork.

It was 73-71 when Shady’s Chase Conner hit a three with three minutes to go.

After a timeout, the Renegades got a trey from Corey Bowles and stayed in control of the rest of the way.

Bowles scored 28 for the Renegades, and Justin Cogar had 25. Levi Lambert tossed in 11.

Conner had 21 for the Tigers and Corey Snyder contributed 16.

WHS (3-1) is at Fairmont Senior this Friday.
